Basmati is a variety of long, slender-grained aromatic rice is traditionally from the Indian subcontinent.
Traditional cooking method: rinse the rice and soak it in water (with added salt and oil) for 15 minutes, then bring to a boil and simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring the rice from time to time. Remove from heat, fluff and serve.
